surah

Name
Surah Al-Zukhruf was given this name because its verses indicate the greatest intent of the Qur’an, which is that the world and all its adornments do not remain, and it is a house of annihilation and everything in it perishes and vanishes.
And it was said that the reason for its name was also the presence of the word “decoration” in it, and it did not appear in other surahs of the Qur’an, so it was called that.
And it was said that it included a description of some aspects of the world and its mortal decorations, which is called decoration “Al-Zukhruf,” when comparing the bliss of this world with the bliss of the Hereafter.

Period of Revelation
Surat Al-Zukhruf is the forty-third surah in terms of the order of the Qur’an, and the sixty-second in terms of the order of revelation, and its revelation was after Surat Al-Shura
It is from the Al-Haamim wall, just as it is one of the Meccan suras like other Al-Hawamim suras.
Others said that it is eighty-eight; This is because of the difference in the connection of the first verse with the second verse or not
It is one of the pure Meccan surahs, not the fifty-fourth verse of it, and some commentators conveyed the consensus that it is Meccan, except for the forty-fifth verse.

Theme and topics

Surat Al-Zukhruf dealt with many topics, the most important of which are the following:

Talking about the Holy Qur’an, and that it is God’s commandment to His servants, revealed it in a clear Arabic tongue, and called them to reflect on it, as I talked about the polytheists’ threat of destruction like the previous nations for those who insisted on their disbelief and stubbornness.

A statement of some manifestations of God's power that calls for His unification; Such as bringing down water from the sky, spreading the earth, and cradle it, as I talked about some of the bad habits that were among the people of Jahiliyyah, such as attributing a child to God Almighty.

Evidence of the innocence of our master Ibrahim - peace be upon him - of polytheism.

Explanation of the polytheists' mistake in the foundations of choosing the prophets, as it made it clear that arrogance in the land does not save from the punishment of God.

Exposure to some conditions of the Day of Resurrection for the believer and the unbeliever, as evidenced by the existence of God - the Almighty - and His attributes, through His blessings and effects on His servants.

A statement of the invalidity of what is raised by the opponents of Islam, and the decline and crookedness of their behavior; By impugning them in the Qur’an, and worshiping idols while recognizing that God is their Creator and He is the Bestower upon them.
