Period of Revelation
It is one of the great Meccan Suras revealed to the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, in Mecca Al-Mukarramah, except for verses number 130 and 131 which were revealed in Medina, and it was revealed after Surah Maryam and its twenty divisions, and the number of its verses reaches one hundred and thirty-five verses, and the number of its words is one thousand. And three hundred and forty-one words and the number of its letters is five thousand two hundred and forty-two letters, and all the Meccan Suras focus on teaching the basics of religion, and the punishment of the unbelievers, heaven and hell, and the noble Sura represents a part of the story of our master Moses, peace be upon him.

The main reason for the revelation of Surat Taha is that the disbelievers mocked the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, because of the Prophet's prayer and night prayers until dawn, and he was hard on himself and continued to pray until his feet were swollen and tired, but he continued. And Aqaba Ibn Abi Muait, and they said when they saw the Prophet while he was praying (I was unhappy that I had left the religion of your fathers, and he said to them: I am but a mercy to the worlds, so God Almighty revealed this noble Surah to entertain the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and to confirm him It is said that it was revealed after Abu Jahl and Al-Nadr bin Al-Harith said to the Prophet (You will be unfortunate if you leave our religion, and that is because of the length of his worship and his diligence they saw), so God Almighty revealed this verse, and it was because of this hadith that this noble surah was revealed so that God Almighty would speak to the Messenger and assure him that it had not been revealed. He has the Qur'an in order to make him tired and unhappy with it.

Theme and topics

The surah began with the courtesy of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, that God did not intend for him to be sent down and have the Quran revealed to him to be miserable as a result, i.e., to be plagued by toil and exhausted by fatigue, but to remind those who fear his threat of the Quran. In it also a reference to the believers who believed that they belonged to the people of fear, and if this had it not been the case, they would not have been reminded of the Quran.

And in this began is a prelude to what comes out of the mission of the Messenger, God's prayer and peace be upon him, to carry out the task of conveying the message and to be one of those with determination among the Messengers, like Moses, peace be upon him, and not to be excessive in determination, like Adam, peace be upon him, before he came to earth.

His message, God's prayer and peace be upon him, is not a misery imposed upon him, and it is not a burden that torments him. Rather, it is a call and a reminder, that is, a sermon and a warning. According to it, the command over creation belongs to God, the One who has no God but Him, the controller of the external and internal universe, the knower of the appearances of hearts and their secrets, to whom the foreheads are subjected and to whom the obedient and disobedient return. Because they lie and disbelieve.
