Surah An-Naml Surah An-Naml was named after the story of the ants with our master, Prophet Solomon, peace be upon him which mentioned in the surah.

Period of Revelation
Surat An-Naml Surah An-Naml is one of the suras that was revealed to the Prophet, may blessings and peace be upon him, while he was in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, and it was revealed after Surat Al-Shu’ara’ .The reason for the revelation of Surat Al-Naml in a nutshell, and it was mentioned in it, that Surat Al-Naml is distinguished by the fact that its subject is the subject of the two Surahs: Surat Al-Shu'ara before it and Surat Al-Qasas after it.

The reason for the revelation of Surat Al-Naml in a nutshell, in which it was mentioned that Surat Al-Naml became like the continuation of Surat Al-Shu'ara' to explain the rest of the stories of the prophets, namely the story of Dawod and Solomon -peace be upon them-, and it contains details in the story of Moses, the story of Saleh and the story of Lot -peace be upon them-, and there is a similarity between these suras At the beginning and at the beginning with the separated letters "TA Seen Meem", and these suras are called Tawasin because they begin with these separated letters, as well as the objective similarity between them in describing the Quran and its revelation from God Almighty.

Theme and topics
The main concern of this sura - as well as the rest of the Meccan suras - is faith: faith in God, worship of God alone, and faith in the afterlife and the rewards and punishments therein. And faith in revelation and that the unseen belongs to God alone and no one but Him knows it. The belief that God is the Creator, the Provider and the Giver of blessings, and directing the heart to thank God for the blessings He has granted to mankind. And the belief that all power and strength belong to God and that there is no power or strength except with God.

Then come the stories to confirm these meanings and present the consequences for those who deny them and the consequences for believers.

Surah sheds light on knowledge because the feature of knowledge appears in the atmosphere of the surah and overshadows it in its entire context from the beginning to the end, and the entire context of the surah runs in this shadow. God's absolute knowledge of the obvious and the hidden, and especially His knowledge of the invisible. And the cosmic signs which he reveals to the people.

Among the intentions of the sura is the description of the Holy Quran as sufficient to guide the entire creation, separating the straight path from the path of the confused, and bringing together the foundations of religion to encompass the knowledge of His revelation of the hidden and the obvious, bringing glad tidings to the believers and warning the disbelievers of the day when the first and the last will meet, and all this is due to the knowledge that requires wisdom.

Among its purposes is also: the contemplation of the greatest kingdom given to a prophet, namely Dawod and Solomon, peace be upon them both, and the knowledge he achieved about the conditions of the birds, and the greatness of the civilization that his kingdom reached.

Among them: the mention of a great king among the Arabs, namely the king of Sheba, which is an indication that the prophethood of Muhammad, God's prayers and peace be upon him, is a message that is compared to the politics of the nation, then follows a king, namely the succession of the Prophet, God's prayers and peace be upon him.

Below that: the argument of the polytheists for the invalidity of their religion and the corruption of their gods and the invalidity of the messages of their soothsayers and fortunetellers and the guardians of their gods. And the proof of the resurrection and the horrors of the resurrection and its signs.
