surah

Name

This sura was called Al-Adiyat. In the first verse, God Almighty swears by Al-Adiyyat, and "Al-Adiyyat" comes from run, which means to run fast, and the meaning is: I swear by the horses that run to conquer Allah's will

Period of Revelation

It is one of the Meccan suras revealed to the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he disagreed as to whether it was Meccan or revealed in Medina.
It is said that one of the reasons for the revelation of Surat Al-Adiyat is that the Messenger, God's prayer and peace be upon him, sent a mission to a neighborhood of Kinana and no news reached for a long time until some of the hypocrites said that all the members of the squadron had been killed, whereupon God Almighty revealed the honorable Surah

Theme and topics

Surah Al-Adiyat begins by mentioning the horses that invade and gallop in the wars and battles that Muslims fight in the way of God Almighty, and when God Almighty swears by one of His creatures, it is a glorification of that creature One of the purposes of Surat Al-Adiyat is that it shows the greatness of horses and praises their strength and the intensity of their storm on the enemy's ranks and the speed of their gallop. The greatest purpose of Surat Al-Adiyat is to point out the importance of Jihad, preparation for it and preparation for conquests and battles.

The purposes of Surat Al-Adiyat also include a reference to the ungrateful person who denies and does not believe in the blessings of God Almighty.
The last of the verses also reminds us of the horrors of the resurrection and the resurrection after death on the Promised Day of Resurrection, and shows how God Almighty will reveal the secrets of the breasts and what they conceal.
