History of surah The Forgiver

Name
Surah Ghafir was given this name to denote the attribute of God mentioned at the beginning of the Surah

The name "Ghafer" is taken from the attribute of God which is forgiveness of sins, and it used the form of the subject "Ghafer" and not other forms like forgiveness to denote steadfastness and stability while renewing forgiveness.

Period of Revelation
The Holy Quran contains many suras revealed to the Messenger - may God bless him and grant him peace - without a rationale for revealing wisdom known only to God, such as Surah Al-Fatihah. The book" reasons for the revelation"  did not contain any of the reasons for the revelation of Surah Ghafer or any of its verses.

Theme and topics

Its main theme, which summarises the verses, is the subject of monotheism and faith, especially the story of the resurrection, the fate of believers and the fate of unbelievers, and the mention of some proofs of God's divinity and his justification for choosing him-blessed be he-for worship, with the mention of part of the story of Moses, peace be upon him, with Pharaoh.
