History of surah The Reality
Name
Surat Al-Haqqah was so named because God Almighty began the Surah with a great oath, and Al-Haqqah, as mentioned in the books of interpretation and jurisprudence, is one of the names of the Day of Resurrection.
Period of Revelation
Surah Al-Haqqa was revealed in Mecca; it is a Meccan Surah according to the consensus of scholars, Surah Al-Haqqa was revealed in the fifth year before the Hijrah.
In some interpretation books, the reason mentioned for the revelation of Surah Al-Haqqa is what was transmitted from the Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - that he said to Ali bin Abi Talib - may God be pleased with him - (I have been commanded to bring you near me and not to exclude you, and to teach you and be attentive, and it is your right to be attentive).
Theme and topics
It contained several themes; mentioned the day of resurrection to remind people of its horrors, and it showed the inevitability of its occurrence, and this was in response to those who denied its occurrence. Part of the suffering.
And God Almighty mentioned the blessings He bestowed upon His faithful servants and how He saved them from torment. Then the verses describe the condition of people on the Day of Resurrection and Retribution and the degrees in which they differ. Among them are those who receive the most severe punishments and settlements because they disbelieved in God Almighty, mocked the Messenger of God, God's prayer and peace be upon him, and denied the miracle that the Almighty has placed in their hands, namely the Holy Quran.
And the verses make it clear that God Almighty will confirm His noble Prophet and threaten and warn the polytheists, because if they do not respond, they will have to face the threat that God Almighty has promised them in the form of terror and torment.
