Sheikh Saud Al Shuraim is Imam of Al masjid Al Haram (the Holy mosque of Mecca) and one of the most prominent reciters in Islamic world. His ancestors were princes of Al-Shaqra city. He was born in Riyadh in 1386/1966. Sheikh Saud's rise was unique as he was Attending lessons to learn Fiqh , Islamic Aqidah (creed) and Tafseer from prominent sheikhs at Saudi Arabia, All that was parallel to his Academic study, he completed memorizing Quran with perfect recitation during his study at the University of Imam Muhammad bin Saud where he specialized at Islamic Aqidh and contemporary doctrines at which he got his master's degree and PHD from Ummm Al Qura university. He worked Also as a professor of Fiqh for years. Sheikh Saud Al Shuraim studied at High Judicial Institute, and he worked in the judiciary where he was appointed a judge of the Court and the Supreme Council of the Magistracy, and then sheikh resigned because of his many positions and jobs. Sheikh Al Shuraim has the credit for the establishment of two new faculties in Umm Al-Qura University where he works as its dean, these two faculties are (College of Judicial Studies and College of Islamic Economics and Finance) In a serious attempt to develop the Islamic Sharia law to comply with the contemporary judicial and financial system. Sheikh started Imamat in many mosques since his youth in parallel with his academic study and he worked at university and judiciary. He was appointed as imam of Al- masjid Al –Haram according to a royal decree since the year 1412 / 1992 until now. Sheikh Saud Al Shuraim recitation is perfect and his voice is pure and unique. He has many printed books at Fiqh, khatabat and Tafseer. He gave many lectures in Al-masjid Al-Haram at which he explained the most important books in Islamic Aqidah and Fiqh besides his unique Friday sermons. More ...
