Name

The Surat Al-Tin was named after it. This is because God Almighty opens this Surah with the oath of figs and olives, and this is because these types of food are generally good, beneficial and useful for all people.

Period of Revelation

Neither in the Sunnah nor in the books of interpretation and sciences of the Qur'an is there any reference to a reason for the revelation of Surat al-Tin in its entirety. However, the scholars have given a reason for the revelation of the fourth and fifth verses of Surat al-Tin.
The fourth verse was revealed about the disbelievers who denied the resurrection, and this is what Imam Al-Qurtubi referred to in his interpretation. The reason for the revelation of the fifth verse is that it was revealed about a group of people at the time of the Messenger of God, may God's blessings and peace be upon him, who had advanced in age until they reached the stage of the lowest age, and they had lost most of their physical and mental faculties, so the Companions asked the Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - about their condition

Theme and topics

One of the purposes of Surat Al-Tin is to affirm the honor of man with his creation in the best form and to point out that he was created on the straight instinct, which is Islam, and to threaten those who deny Islam and to point out the good reward of those who believe.
