About Reciter
Sheikh Ali bin Abdul Rahman Al-Hodaifi is one of the most famous readers of the Quran. He was born in 1366/1947 in a village near Mecca in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He is a university professor and worked as imam and khatib (preacher) at Al-Masjid Al-Haram and Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, which is a great honor.
Sheikh Ali's family encouraged him to memorize the Holy Quran and learn Sharia (Islamic law) in the village mosques. Sheikh Ali Al-Hodaifi had his basic education in religious schools before joining the Faculty of Sharia at Imam Muhammad Bin Saud University in Riyadh where he got bachelor's degree. After graduation, he worked as a school teacher and imam in a mosque.
Sheikh Ali Al-Hodaifi completed his university studies at Al-Azhar University in Egypt where he received master's and Ph.D. degrees in Fiqh and specialized in Islamic politics. Then, he worked as a professor at the Islamic University in Medina, where he taught Fiqh, Aqeedah and Quran readings.
Sheikh Ali Al-Hodaifi received ijazah (permission) in the ten readings of the Holy Quran and worked as Imam and preacher at the most famous mosques, including: Quba Mosque and Al-Masjid Al-Nabawi in Medina as well as Al-Masjid Al-Haram in Mecca. Sheikh Ali held many positions related to Quran; he was the Chairman of the committee that specialized in printing the Quran in Saudi Arabia and he was supervising the reciters who record the Quran with their voices in digital forms.
